THE SAVE BRIDGE
A wonderfully well-preserved mediaeval bridge.
As you stroll on the banks of the river Save in Grenade you discover this 14th century brick bridge which boasts three pointed arches. From the Hundred Years’ War up to the Revolution it used to be a part of the fortifications of the city. It was built between Saint-James hospital and the water mill. This mill stills stands close to the bridge. The bridge was largely restored and it remains one of the major traffic routes of the city.
