BOIS DE BAYLER

MERVILLE

Description

This woodland of around 3 hectares, located in the centre of the town, is accessible via Chemin de Rambeau, Rue du Bois de Bayler and Rue Joseph Bon. It features a pond with a stream running through it, a children's play area and a range of sports equipment.

Bayler Wood is a site with a rich history, dating back to Antiquity. It was during this period that an agricultural estate was established, which later became a fortified village in the Middle Ages. A sign on the Rue du Rambeau side of the road shows you a reconstruction of this village, which has now disappeared. On the reverse of this panel, nature lovers will discover all the species of trees planted in the park.
